Purea Core shower filtration

Purea Core filters sediment before it reaches the spray.

Built into every SUHAE showerhead, Purea Core uses ceramic media and fine micro-fabric filtration to capture sediment, debris and rust carried through household plumbing.

How Purea Core works

Two filtration stages before the water reaches the spray.

Tested ceramic media

Water first passes through ceramic bead media tested for resistance to bacterial growth in warm, wet conditions.

Fine micro-fabric filtration

A woven layer then captures sediment, fine debris and rust carried through household plumbing. Trapped particles remain visible on the fabric, so you can see the filtration stage at work.

Aera Flow spray plate

After filtration, water moves through the Aera Flow plate for an even, controlled spray. Radiance and Nourish recorded a mean flow rate of 5.0 litres per minute with both filtration stages installed.

Media testing: Korea Far Infrared Association, method KFIA-FI-1002, certificate KFIA-110, January 2023. Flow testing: Singapore Laboratory Services, report 22608188-CLC, 19 March 2026, tested under AS/NZS 3662:2013.

What the ceramic media test shows

The ceramic ball filter was tested using method KFIA-FI-1002. The test recorded a 99.9% reduction in two test organisms after 24 hours of static contact.

This result applies to bacterial growth on the filter media. It is not a disinfection result for outgoing shower water, which passes through the filter in seconds.

How the flow rate was tested

Radiance and Nourish recorded a mean flow rate of 5.0 litres per minute across pressures from 1.5 to 5.0 bar. Testing used complete showerheads with both filtration stages installed under clause 5.1 and appendix B of AS/NZS 3662:2013.

Singapore Laboratory Services is SAC-SINGLAS accredited. The report covers SUH-RAD-CHR, SUH-RAD-BLK and SUH-NOR-CHR. Aura includes Purea Core, but the published independent flow result does not cover Aura.

Designed for daily use

Fine filtration designed for everyday shower flow.

Purea Core combines fine filtration with a water path designed to maintain a steady shower flow.

The published flow result was measured using complete Radiance and Nourish showerheads with both filtration stages installed. It reflects how the products perform in everyday use.

Care and compatibility

What Purea Core filters and how to care for it.

Does Purea Core soften hard water?

Purea Core captures sediment, rust and fine debris carried through household plumbing.

Water hardness comes from dissolved calcium and magnesium, which require a water-softening system rather than a particle filter. If limescale is your main concern, check the hardness information published by your local water utility before choosing a solution.

How do I clean and replace the filters?

SUHAE showerheads come apart by hand, allowing the internal parts to be rinsed without tools.

The separate Vita Refill cartridge is replaced every two to three months, depending on household use. A replacement cartridge costs AUD $29.90.

Questions about Purea Core

Common questions about Purea Core.

What does Purea Core filter out?

Purea Core physically captures sediment, fine debris, rust and grit carried through household plumbing. Ceramic media supports hygiene inside the filter, while the micro-fabric layer captures visible particles.

Chlorine reduction is handled separately by the Vitae Infusion vitamin C stage.

What does antibacterial ceramic mean?

The ceramic media was tested for resistance to bacterial growth. Testing recorded a 99.9% reduction in two organisms after 24 hours of static contact.

This result describes the filter media itself. It does not mean the outgoing shower water is antibacterial.

Will Purea Core reduce water pressure?

Independent testing recorded a mean flow rate of 5.0 litres per minute for Radiance and Nourish with the complete filtration system installed.

The published flow figure reflects the finished showerhead, not an empty unit. See how the Aera Flow plate works.

Which SUHAE products include Purea Core?

Purea Core is built into SUHAE Radiance, Nourish and Aura. SUHAE Universal uses its own smaller micro-fabric filter behind your existing showerhead.

How is this different from the vitamin C stage?

Purea Core physically captures particles carried through household plumbing. Vitae Infusion uses vitamin C for chlorine reduction.

In showerheads that include both, each technology performs a different part of the filtration process.
